Abstract
The effect of N‐phenyl‐N′‐1,2,3,‐thidiazol‐5‐ylurea (thidiazuron, Dropp, SN 49537) on abscisic acid (ABA) level in apple (Malus domestica Borkh. cv. York Imperial) buds associated with bud break and bud development was determined. The data showed that increased ABA content in apple buds was associated with thidiazuron‐induced bud break and bud development. ABA stimulated growth of apple buds that had emerged from dormancy by thidiazuron treatment. The ABA in apple buds was confirmed by GC‐EIMS and GC‐CIMS.Keywords
