Abstract
The behaviour of a soluble model of a spin glass, a random site model with infinite-range interactions, in a strong magnetic field is examined in relation to the even probability distribution P( xi i) of the quenched random site variables xi i. The order parameter r in this model is the projection of the spin in the local freezing direction at T=0. For magnetic fields BBtc the transition becomes first order. There always exists a tricritical point and if the distribution is peaked at xi i=0, upper and lower critical temperatures can also exist for a certain range of the magnetic field. The behaviour of the order parameter, entropy, specific heat, and magnetic susceptibility are also considered. Keywords
