Influence of a Reality Orientation Training Program on the Attitudes of Trainees Toward the Elderly

Abstract
Reality Orientation, a structured way of working with confused, disoriented older people, not only has a positive effect on the older person, but also on those who work with him. The variables of sex, age, residence, and occupation are examined across time to determine the significance of each on the attitudes of the trainees. The 5-day Reality Orientation Training Program itself is the significant variable with the others being not significant. Follow-up studies are underway to determine any diminishing effects after one year.
