Abstract
Attempt is made to correlate the recognized culture phases in microbic dissociation with the variants presented by Kuhn. It is believed that Kuhn''s C forms are equivalent to the G (gonidial) phase, that his B forms are equivalent to the S (smooth) phase and his F forms to the R (rough) phase. He presents no form equivalent to the M (mucoid), and in microbic dissociation there have been established no phases clearly allied with Kuhn''s D (dendritic) or A (Pettenkoferia) forms. The existence of a virus-like phase is suggested, although Kuhn believes the filterable forms are merely the smallest of the C (or G) elements. Since it appears that, in different spp., sometimes the S, sometimes the R and sometimes the M are most virulent or tqxigenic, the question is raised whether, in other spp., virulence or toxigenicity may not be associated with the G or with the (still hypothetical) V phase. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
