Abstract
In a recent study of scale insects of the genus Pulvinaria in the peach growing areas of southern Ontario, four species were identified: P. vitis (L.), P. innumerabilis (Rathvon), P. acericola (Walsh and Riky), and P. floccifera (Westwood). Of these, only the first two, P. vitis and P. innumerabilis, were abundant enough to be of economic importance and because they resemble one another, especially when the ovisac is present, they may easily be confused.
