Abstract
This review considers the general nature of cognitive development theories. It describes a number of cognitive structures specified by various cognitive development theorists, discusses research investigating these structures, and presents research on children's responses to television and television advertising which has utilized the various structures. It also discusses some general implications of using the cognitive development approach for research on children's responses to television.Keywords
