Abstract
Summary: Methods are given for the fractionation of pig serum so that fractions rich in the activity of the third component of complement might be obtained. One useful fraction contains nearly all of the first component and about one-half of the third component, another shows only third component activity. Complete purification has not yet been achieved. Values are reported for the uptake of nitrogen and the fixation of components in the action of specific precipitates on pig serum. Keywords
