Abstract
Glucose tolerance tests of 192 children are compared with those of 1500 adults. Normal curves were obtained in 82% of the children, 62% of the adults. There was low incidence of diabetes in the first 40 years, with an abrupt rise after 70. Normal fasting blood sugar level of both adults and children fluctuated between 60 and 120 mgm. ''%. Severe infection increased diabetes in children. Incidence of diabetes in cases of hyperpituitarism was high, in hypopituitarism low. Diabetes accompanied hyperthyroidism in 63.5% of 239 adults, but in only 3 of 17 children. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
