Abstract
Since 1970 there have been numerous expressions of the need for a Code of Ethics for group work specialists. Guidelines for leadership qualifications, member expectations, advertising, confidentiality, voluntary or involuntary membership and protection of members from physical or psychological harm are all areas of ethical import to group guidance, group counseling, and group therapy which still need to be scrutinized by members of the American Personnel and Guidance Association. This article provides an overview of ethical standards for group work specialists and encourages counselors to support the development and adoption of a set of ethical standards for those interested in group work. Keywords
