Abstract

The coloring matter of the hen''s eggs examined agreed in its absorption properties with a mixture of 30% zeaxanthin and 70% lutein. The zeaxan-thin-fraction obtained by adsorption of the coloring matter of the egg yolk on CaCO3 contained over 70% zeaxanthin.
