Abstract
The decomposition of ammonium tetrathiotungstate, (NH4)2WS4, and the nature of the resulting tungsten sulfides have been studied, mainly by X‐ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, optical microscopy and electron spin resonance.Non‐stoichiometric tungsten trisulfide may be obtained by decomposition of (NH4)2WS4at about 200°C. At 330°C crystallization of tungsten disulfide starts. Characteristic electron spin resonance spectra have been obtained for both sulfides. Keywords
