Abstract

Evidence for a new resonance

θ \to η η

in the process

\frac{J}{ψ} \to γ η η

is presented. The resonance parameters of the

θ

are

M = 1640 \pm 50

MeV and

Γ = 220_{- 70}^{+ 100}

MeV.

J^{PC} = 2^{+ +}

is preferred over

0^{+ +}

.
