Abstract
Two epidemiologically unrelated women with bacteremic meningococcal pneumonia are reported. Both patients were civilians without antecedent viral illness. The organism involved was Neisseria meningitidis, Group W-135, a serogroup of rapidly increasing importance in the USA. The difficulties in diagnosis and scope of meningococcal pneumonia are discussed. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
