Abstract
The methods in use for the production of smallpox vaccine at the Michigan Dept. of Health are described in detail. Careful attention to sanitary details is emphasized and Roccal is compared with brilliant green bile as a germicidal agent for treatment of operative surfaces. Provided all the necessary sanitary precautions are adhered to, the quaternary ammonium salt appears to be advantageous and does not affect the activity of this virus. Keywords
