Abstract
The design of control charts with respect to economic criteria has been the subject of considerable study during the last three decades. Several different process models have been developed and applied to most of the major types of control charts. This paper reviews and analyzes these economic decision models. Some discussion of the practical implementation of economic design procedures for control charts is also given. Keywords
