Primary Chromoblastomycosis of the Nasal Septum

Abstract
Nakamura, Takamitsu, Grant, James A., Threlkeld, Robert, and Wible, Linda: Primary chromoblastomycosis of the nasal septum. Am. J. Clin. Pathol. 58: 365–370, 1972. A case of primary chromoblastomycosis of the nasal septum in a farmer from northern Mississippi is presented. The fungus responsible was identified by culture as Phialophora verrucosa. Chromoblastomycosis is an uncommon fungal infection, at least in this country, and its primary involvement of the areas other than the extremities is extremely rare. The present case is the second documented case of primary chromoblastomycosis of the nasal septum.
