Abstract
A study was made of the influence of surfactants in the treatment of contamined waters, both in the flocculation and in the ion flotation processes. Data are given on the effect of varying of the pH and the electrostatic charge of suspended particles. Some flocculation value and volume reduction factors are given for various cationic and anionic detergents. A relationship was found between pH, intrinsic viscosity and efficiency of decontamination for 137Cs in the ion flotation method.
