Abstract
Flow past a plate midway between two walls is studied analytically using the Stokes approximation. An exact solution is found for the semi‐infinite plate using the Wiener‐Hopf technique. For the finite plate an approximate technique related to variational principles is discussed which provides both upper and lower bounds on the dragKeywords
