Abstract
We report the physical properties of a novel room-temperature AFLC mixture composed of chiral and racemic components. The electrooptic properties and ionic contamination of the mixture, in test cells prepared with different alignment layers, are also investigated. The implications of the results on the origins of ionic contamination in the mixture itself is discussed. Keywords
