Simultaneous determination of oil and water content in olive husk by pulsed low resolution nuclear magnetic resonance

Abstract
Summary: A pulsed low‐resolution NMR method for the oil and water determination in olive husk samples is reported. It is based on the determination of the solid to liquid ratio of the sample and on the detection of the spin‐echo decay curve. This method is very fast and can be fully self‐contained, as it does not require either to weigh and dry the sample or any correlation curve. It seems suitable for other oil containing samples, such as seeds. The way to simplify and speed up the procedure is also discussed.
