Abstract
An ultraviolet spsctrophotometric and a microbiological assay were used to determine residues of benomyl and its derivative carbendazim on banana skin and pulp. Two alternative procedures for the purification of pulp extracts are described and recovery values from laboratory‐treated bananas are compared. The average residue determined in the pulp was 6.4 % of the total for the whole fruit. Keywords
