TT Virus

Abstract
. TT virus (TTV) is a newly described DNA virus that was first detected in the blood of three patients with elevated serum aminotransferases following transfusion who tested negatively for all known hepatitis viruses. The virus has been found worldwide with a high prevalence in the general population. However, accumulating evidence suggests that the virus is not a significant cause of acute or chronic liver disease. No other disease associations with infection have been described.
