Abstract
Absorption bands of the Schumann-Runge system of oxygen have been photographed with a 3-meter vacuum spectrograph in the region . A rotational analysis yields constants for the upper states which are new in the range inclusive. Origins of the bands in this progression are represented within the limits of accuracy of the observations by the following equation: The energy of dissociation, , is 5.05 volts.
