Abstract
Family sponsor homes, a network of private homes where patients are helped through their crises by carefully screened and selected families, have helped reduce the annual use of hospital beds to 1 per 100, 000 population in southwest Denver. These homes are part of a range of small, diversified, and effective environments for treatment of acutely and chronically disabled psychiatric clients. Keywords
