An Efficient Method for the Preparation of 2-Thioxotetrahydro-1,3-oxazines

Abstract
2-Thioxotetrahydro-1,3-oxazole and 2-thioxotetrahydro-1,3-oxazines (including cycloalkane-fused derivatives) are prepared by reaction of 2- or 3- aminoalkanols, respectively, with carbon disulfide and triethylamine and condensation of the triethylammonium dithiocarbamates thus obtained with ethyl carbonochloridate and triethylamine. The yields of the 2-thioxo-1,3-O,N-heterocycles thus prepared are considerably higher than those obtained by the earlier methods.
