Reproductive History of the Holloman Chimpanzee Colony

Abstract
The Aeromedicai Research Laboratory at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, has pioneered in maintaining and breeding chimpanzees for medical experimentation. Using improved husbandry techniques, a most successful chimpanzee breeding colony has been developed. A relatively small breeding group produced 50 pregnancies during 1966-1971. It is expected that the colony will continue to produce eight to ten offspring per year.
