Effect of Gonadotropic Hormone on Ovarian Follicles and Serum Vitellin Of Fasting Hens

Abstract
Administration of 0.5 Cartland-Nelson unit of pregnant mare serum gonadotropic hormone (Gonadogen) to fasting hens prevents the fall in serum vitellin, and the disappearance of ripe ovarian follicles, which would otherwise occur. Serum vitellin production defends on normal ovarian activity.
