Abstract
The convergent close-coupling (CCC) method for the calculation of electron-helium scattering is used to generate singly differential ionization cross sections, These are obtained directly from cross sections corresponding to the positive-energy states (pseudostates) used in the close-coupling expansion of the total wavefunction. The method is applied to 100 eV electron impact ionization of the ground state of helium. Agreement with experiment is found to be very good indicating that the CCC method is able to obtain correct ionization cross sections even in the case where the two outgoing electrons have similar energy. Keywords
