Abstract
The tube radius a is defined as the mean distance between nearest segments belonging to different chains. For a moderately concentrated system of sufficiently long chains, a is found to be inversely proportional to the segment density rho. By use of this result, several problems in the entanglement effect are discussed. Keywords
