Abstract
Atazanavir sulfate, a protease inhibitor, is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV type 1 (HIV-1) infection.1 Among the antiretroviral agents that are currently in use, only indinavir is known to cause kidney stones.2 We describe a patient who had hydronephrosis and a ureteral stone composed mainly of atazanavir metabolites. Keywords
