Abstract
1,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-2-fluoro-α-D-galacopyranose (4) and 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-2-fluoro-α-Dgalactopyranose (5) have been synthesized in 78% and 84% yields respectively in 5 min by the reaction of acetyl hypofluorite with the corresponding tri-O-acetylglycal (2,3) at –78 °C.
