Abstract
Stable suspension of a superconducting sample below a magnet was recently reported by Peters et al. [Appl. Phys. Lett. 52, 2066 (1988)] and Huang et al. [Mod. Phys. Lett. B 2, 869 (1988)]. The suspension effect and its vertical stability are demonstrated by a thought experiment. Keywords
