Abstract
The intrinsic dimensionally (ID) of different sets of isolated word utterances is estimated through a method recently proposed by K.W. Pettis et al. (1979). This results show ID values ranging from 3 to 15, which are consistent with the intuitive degree of difficulty associated to the sets considered. Also, some speculative applications of ID estimating are discussed. Keywords
