Structure of magnetic core in the thin film inductor.

Abstract
Thin film inductor with magnetic strip core array and planar core is discussed. Inductance per unit volume comparable and increased with increases in the magnetic core volume for both cores in low frequency range. The inductance and Q in high frequency are increased by using planar core. On the other hand, maximum of Q and its frequency increases with decreases in the thickness of magnetic core. Low eddy current losses and volume of magnetic core are needed for high inductance and Q values in high frequency. Thus, multilayer planar core in which thin magnetic layer is laminated by isolator is useful for thin film inductor in high frequency operation.
