Abstract
The free amino-nitroge content of rat brain falls by about 2.6 mg/100 g tissue in thiopentone ("Pentothal") anaesthesia. This is attributable mainly to a fall in the glutamic acid level. Nine amino compounds visible on paper chromatograms were estimated in deproteinized extracts of rat brain which were frozen in liquid O2 immediately after death. Keywords
