Abstract
We report on some properties of meson collisions in quantum chromodynamics in two space-time dimensions to leading order in , where is the number of colors. Following a review of "Regge-like" power behavior of two-body, nondiffractive scattering amplitudes (quark exchange), we turn to diffractive scattering. We have calculated the high-energy behavior of the "twisted loop" or "cylinder" graph and have shown that there is no "bare" Pomeron to leading order in .
