Abstract
Preview A pirimary target of the neuropathic, vascular, and infective complications of diabetes is the foot. Disorders occur frequently in the lower extremities of the diabetic patient enhancing the vulnerability of the foot to damage by environmental factors. How can the diabetic patient help prevent serious foot disorders from developing? What procedures are available for treatment of neuropathies, ischemia, and infections? How are advanced lesions treated? Although progress has been slow in the prevention of these disorders, advances in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures provide an optimistic outlook for diabetic patients afflicted with foot problems. Keywords
