Abstract
A flow cell for use with small glass electrodes has been designed and constructed from Perspex. The operation of the cell and the pulsing of the potassium chloride solution to the junction have been automated. The stability of the electrode potential is satisfactory with flow-rates in the range 0.2–17 ml min–1. Work carried out with two different glass electrodes in dilute buffers has indicated that it is important to check the performance of the glass electrode in both concentrated and dilute buffers, even though the slope of the electrode response in the former often appears to be acceptable. Keywords
