Abstract
The micodistribution of epiphytic plants in the canopy of Lecythis costaricensis is discussed in relation to the effects of arboreal animals such as squirrels, white-faced (Cebus capucinus) and howler (Alouatta pillosa) monkeys. These animals form runways on limbs, excluding epiphytes from what overwise appeared to be favorable growth sites.
