Acquired Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia with Acute Renal Insufficiency

Abstract
Auto-immune hemolytic anemia with acute renal insufficiency occurred in a 60-year-old Negro female. All agglutination studies were non-revealing as to the etiology of the process involved. To the author''s knowledge, 5 cases have been previously published in which acute renal insufficiency was associated with an auto-immune hemolytic process. Some proposals are offered as to the pathophysiological actions that were required for such an unlikely combination to occur.
