Abstract
A study of the quantitative distribution of lactic and malic dehydrogenase activities in human brain showed greater enzyme activities in gray matter than white matter. Highest levels of lactic dehydrogenase activity were found in the putamin and the caudate nuclei. Malic dehydrogenase had a more uniform distribution. Lactic dehydrogenase and malic dehydrogenase activities did not always correlate in their distribution. Keywords
