Half-life ofTa180

A search has been made for $\gamma$ rays emitted following the electron-capture and/or ${\beta }^{-}$ decay of ${}_{}{}^{180}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ta}$. No excess of counts above background was observed in the vicinity of any of the expected $\gamma$-ray energies. From these results, lower limits on the partial half-lives of ${}_{}{}^{180}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ta}$ against electron-capture and ${\beta }^{-}$ decay have been determined to be ≥5.6×${10}^{13}$ and ≥5.6×${10}^{13}$ yr, respectively.
