Abstract
The therapy of tuberculosis has undergone a remarkable change since the advent of antimicrobials, particularly isoniazid. Cornerstones of past treatment have in many instances been relegated to ancillary rôles. The changing concepts which, in our opinion, have contributed to a decrease in the incidence of therapeutic failures are: 1. "Adequate" combined drug therapy. 2. Determination of the dosage of isoniazid by assay methods to insure adequate levels of the antimicrobially active drug in vivo. 3. Physical activity as a basic principle of treatment. 4.
