Free conducting particles and gas breakdown

Abstract
The motion of free conducting particles or metallic contaminants can initiate breakdown in gas-insulated systems. Several methods of inhibiting this breakdown are discussed. A calculation was made to determine the transit time and resulting current created by these particles as a function of particle size.Keywords
