Abstract
The reflexes obtainable in human beings were investigated with 23 apes as subjects. It was found possible to elicit the following reflexes: pupillary (light direct, light crossed and accommodation), corneal, conjuncti-val, nasal, supraorbital, nasopalpebral, patellar, Achilles, and plantar (seizing action of foot). Abdominal reflexes could not be obtained, and the medio-pubic reflex consisted of adduction of the thighs without the contraction of the abdominal wall found in man. It is believed that the appearance of the abdominal reflexes in man is related to the acquisition of the erect posture. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
