Abstract
To the Editor: Dr. Edwin P. Maynard's fine discussion, in 1977, of Dr. Warren Point's 1966 patient with amebic colitis (Case 32–1977, N Engl J Med 297:322–330, 1977) includes the statement, "... There are reported cases with a duration of up to 12 years before the diagnosis was finally established."
