Abstract
High-Ca nutrient solns. (3 replicates) produced more B deficiency than did low Ca in broccoli plants. In 2 expts., however, with kale and broccoli, in which 26 replicates of each level of Ca were tried, there was no significant association of high Ca and B deficiency. 3 levels of N, K, and Mg had no significant effect on B-deficiency symptoms. Stem-end browning of potato tubers was produced in the greenhouse on low B, and a more severe symptom of B deficiency in the tubers is described.
