The photoconductivity and photovoltaic effect in PbTiO3

Abstract
The temperature dependence of the photocurrent Jph and the photovoltaic current J in the ferroelectnc phase of PbTiO3 (4 mm), have been investigated. The temperature interval studied covered the region near T = -100°C, where according to Ref. 1 the phase transition of the first order takes place. PbTiO3 crystals were grown by the hydrothermal method.2 The photoconductivity and photovoltaic current were measured in the direction of spontaneous polarization; the lighting was performed in the perpendicular direction using two mercury lines (3 13 and 436 nm).
