Comparative Metabolic Studies on Normal and Neoplastic Rat Liver

Abstract
Hepatoma tissue showed a signif[long dash]icant decrease in the enzyme level of phosphoglucomutase, glucose -6-phosphatase, fructose 1,6-diphosphatase, phosphoglucose isomerase, and phosphorylase. These latter enzymes yielded markedly higher total and specific activities in normal and regenerating liver tissue. Hepatoma tissue and newborn liver tissue were found to exhibit the same enzymatic pattern with regard to phosphorylase but differed with reference to glucose-6-phosphatase.
