Abstract
An assay method is presented for human serum chorionic gonadotrophin based upon the 72-hr. uterine wt. response of the immature rat. $ animals of 21-23 days were given 6 injs. spaced over 2 days and the uterine wt. increase detd. at 72 hrs. A standard curve for dosage-uterine wt. response was developed, accurate over a 7-fold dosage. Comparison with I. S. chorionic gonadotrophin was made and results can be expressed in I. U. This method, with relatively few animals, was found more sensitive and had a wider useful range than other commonly used end-points.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
